Hello BCE Families!
LET’S START READING TOGETHER…Our 'One School One Book' initiative begins TODAY and we are excited to kick things off!
In case you missed it - we are partnering with the national nonprofit 'Read to Them' to help build a community of readers. Every child will come home with their very own book and as an entire school community we will read that book together. This is a unique event as everyone--K-6 students, families, teachers, administration-- all have the opportunity to read the same book, “A Boy Called Bat”!
A calendar of reading chapters as well as some fun extension activities will also come home. Please take the time to read together with your student each day--our book is a gentle and sweet story that has a lot of potential to teach us all something about kindness, understanding and learning to be a friend.
To add another fun extension to our book reading, we have voice recordings of each chapter of our book. Simply click on the link below and you will be directed to ‘Vocaroo’ where you can hit the play button and follow along in your book. This might be especially handy on busy nights, and you need to listen in the car or while you are on the go! You’ll notice that the name of the staff member is not listed. See if you can guess the mystery reader for each chapter!
