Announcing the Fall 2020 Theme

Fall Book Fair - Sept 28 - Oct 8 - STUDENTS ONLY.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming up quickly, but this fall it is going to look a little different. The book fair is going to be for STUDENTS ONLY!!   The book fair will not be open before or after school and it will not be open to the public, families, visitors, etc.

The E~Wallet option is available and super convenient.  You may choose an amount to be put on your child's Scholastic account (set up through the Scholastic website HERE) through your credit/debit card. Your child cannot go over the allotted amount that you choose and anything not spent goes directly back onto your credit/debit card after the fair is over. Cash and checks will still be accepted.

Our school office is open from 8:30-3:45.

HOWEVER, due to COVID restrictions, we cannot allow non-essential persons into the building. This means we cannot allow parents, volunteers, guests etc. This is a temporary measure and we will post notice when this policy changes. Thank you for your understanding.

20-21 Learning Preference Models at BCE

Hybrid Learning Model

Students learning through the hybrid model will be assigned to Cohort A or Cohort B.
  •  Cohort A will attend school in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be independent learning from home, meaning students will work on assignments, view pre-recorded lessons from their teachers, etc. (their teacher will be teaching Cohort B in-person on these two days).
  • Cohort B will attend school in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mondays and Wednesdays will be independent learning from home, meaning students will work on assignments, view pre-recorded lessons from their teachers online, etc. (their teacher will be teaching Cohort A in-person on these two days).
  • On Fridays, all students (Cohorts A and B) will participate in online learning from home. They will receive live online instruction from their teachers on this day.
  • Your school leader will provide more details in the coming weeks regarding what Cohort your child will be part of and which days he/she will attend school in person.

100% eLearning Model (Currently avaialble to new families only.)

  • Visit our dedicated eLearning web page
  • The 100% eLearning option will feature regularly scheduled teacher-led instruction via a curriculum that is aligned with state standards to help students build upon fundamental skills. Students will engage with their instructor(s) via activities including assignments, assessments, regularly scheduled synchronous (live) instruction, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Instruction is primarily synchronous (teachers and students are online at the same time with a set schedule - teacher provides learning resources and tasks in the eLearning platform during this scheduled class time).
  • Additionally, further instruction will be provided through asynchronous learning (previously recorded and/or on-demand) such as videos, assignments, readings, etc.
